Arachnophobia, directed by Frank Marshal and starring Jeff Daniels and John Goodman, is set in the small (fictional) California Town of Canaima.
The name comes from the area where the opening scenes were shot, Parque Nacional Canaima in Venezuela. The real name of the town where the majority of the film was shot is Cambria, California, a costal village in San Luis Obispo County.
